The golden & silver crickets in The Netherlands
Since the 70’s special Nominations and Awards are given for the best productions and best stage achievements for Performing Arts for Young Audiences. Each year during the Theatre Festival in Amsterdam the Golden and Silver Crickets are the most important awards for TYA. The Silver Crickets are the nominees for that year’s Golden Cricket.

The winner of the Golden Cricket 2019-2020 Best Stage Achievement was:
With his libretto for Jabber, language virtuoso Jibbe Willems not only explores the boundaries of our language area, he skilfully jumps over them. For his Jabber language he shops extremely creatively in various European languages. In this way, the current theme of the refugee problem becomes understandable for everyone. Fantastic! – The Jury
The Silver Crickets 2019-2020 for Best Stage Achievement were for Theater maker Marlyn Coetsier and set designer Marlies Schot for the staging and the stage design of In the basement stands a house (2+) by Tg. Winterberg and Stip Theater Productions.

The winner of the Golden Cricket 2018-2019 Best Stage Achievement was:
Janne Desmet for her role in Wat er gebeurde terwijl de mussen de polka dansten by Schippers & Van Gucht and hetpaleis.
She delivers an unprecedented performance in the direction of Jellie Schippers and in the desolate set by Myriam van Gucht that blew the theater jury away. Powerful acting of the highest level! – The Jury
The Silver Crickets 2018-2019 for Best Stage Achievement were for actor Sarada Sarita Keilman in Grimm (8+) by Junior Company/Het Nationale Ballet and ISH Dance Collective and for the stage image by Jantien Roozenburg and Jan Willem van der Schoot of De Waanzinnige Boomhut van 13 verdiepingen (5+) by Meneer Monster/CDP Theatre Producers.

The winner of the Golden Cricket 2017-2018 Best Stage Achievement was:
Musician, composer and danser Guy Corneille for his multi-performance in The Basement (12+) by De Dansers, Theater Strahl and Wies Merkx.
Guy Corneille is a musician, composer, singer-songwriter and performer: a multi-talent who switches naturally and easily between dance and music. None of these disciplines competes with him for priority. A born artist who provides the phenomenon of dance concert with new, fresh content. – The Jury
The Silver Cricket 2017-2018 for Best Stage Achievement was for Wikke van Houwelingen and Marloes van der Hoek for their set design for Oorlog by Theater Artemis.
The winner of the Golden Cricket 2016-2017 Best Production was:
Lyricist Joachim Robbrecht, director Timothy de Gilde, designer Janne Sterke and composer Bart Rijnink again turn out to be a golden quartet: use of language, direction, design and soundscape are tight, fast, efficient, striking and to the point. – The jury
The Silver Crickets 2016-2017 for Best Production were for In mijn hoofd ben ik een dun meisje (12+) by HNTjong, Het Hamiltoncomplex (13+) by HetPaleis, Toen wij van Rotterdam vertrokken by Maas theater en dans, Bezoek voor Beer (4+) by Het Laagland and Falling Dreams (10+) by Het Filiaal.
The winner of the Golden Cricket 2016-2017 Best Stage Achievement was:
Sanne Danz for her set design of Alice in Wonderland by Maas theater en dans.
Danz’s geometrical decor, which constantly changes in appearance, plays with the almost impossible fact that Alice changes length. Danz juggles meticulously with vistas, optical illusion and perspective. As if in a viewing box, the intoxicating set draws the viewer into the performance, on an adventure with Alice. – The Jury
The Silver Cricket 2016-2017 for Best Stage Achievement was for scenographer Morgana Machado Marques for the most impressive stage performance for her design of We gaan op berenjacht (4+) by Theater Sonnevanck and Silbersee.
